Getting started

Introduction

What Modloom builds, who it is for, and what it does not do.

Modloom is an AI agent that writes, compiles and packages Minecraft server plugins from a plain-language brief. You describe what your server needs, the agent works on real project files, and you download a finished .jar for Paper, Purpur or Spigot.

What you get#

Every project is a normal Maven project, not a black box.

  • Real source code. Java files, a plugin.yml and a pom.xml you can read, edit and keep.
  • A compiled plugin. The agent builds the project in an isolated sandbox and hands you plugin.jar.
  • A visible history. The thread shows every step the agent took, and each run lists exactly which files changed.

Who it is for#

  • Server owners who know what they want their server to do but do not write Java.
  • Plugin developers who want a working first draft to refine by hand.
  • Teams on a deadline who would rather review a diff than start from an empty folder.

How a plugin gets made#

  1. You write a brief: commands, abilities, events, settings.
  2. The agent plans, writes the project files and compiles them.
  3. You review the changes and the build log, then download the jar.
  4. You ask for changes, or edit the code yourself, and build again.

What Modloom is not#

Modloom is deliberately narrow, and it is better to know the edges up front.

  • It does not host servers. You run the plugin on your own server.
  • It does not run your plugin in Minecraft yet. A passing build means the code compiles. See Known limitations.
  • It is Minecraft only. Other games and mod loaders such as Forge and Fabric are not supported.
  • It builds with Maven. Projects are Maven projects.
Note

A successful build is not proof the plugin behaves exactly as you pictured. Try it on a test server, then ask Modloom to adjust anything that is off.
