Account settings

Profile, sign-in methods, devices and notifications.

Open Account from the user menu. It has four tabs.

Profile#

Your display name lives here. It is also used as the author name on commits Modloom pushes to GitHub. Your email address is shown but cannot be changed here.

Sign-in methods#

Modloom signs you in with GitHub or Discord, and there are no passwords.

  • You can connect the other provider so either one signs you in.
  • You can disconnect a provider, but never the last one, so you cannot lock yourself out.
  • Accounts are not merged automatically. If you sign in with a provider that is not connected, you get a separate account, so connect it from this tab while you are signed in.

Devices#

A list of the devices and browsers you are signed in on. Sign out a single device from here if you lose a laptop or used a shared computer. Sessions last up to seven days.

Notifications#

Modloom sends a small number of emails:

  • a welcome message,
  • a notice when you reach a usage limit,
  • an alert when you sign in on a new device.

You can turn off the usage and sign-in emails here.

GitHub integration#

Linking a GitHub account for sync is separate from signing in. See GitHub sync.
